Every Thursday @ 9pm Are you tired of hanging out with 21-year olds in overpriced night clubs listening to bling-bling hip-hop and Top 40 mush? Whatever happened to music with Taste? Beats so funky you just can't help but nod your head and move your hips to. We get down every Thursday night with resident Master of the Funkisphere DJ Bizzon of WMSE. DJ Bizzon is simply one of the smoothest and funkiest DJs in Milwaukee, and we think that you will agree. DJ Bizzon brings old classics like De La and Tribe and weaves them together with Sergio Mendes, Sharon Jones and James Brown for an evening of non-stop funkiness. Add to that our classic $5 Specialty Cocktails (which you WILL not find anyplace else) and a unique venue with a regular rotation of original local artwork, and you will see why we decided to call the evening Taste!
Every Sunday night @ 8pm - Salsa Sundays! This ongoing event has made BYO Studio Lounge THE place to go on a Sunday night for Fantastic Dancing, People Watching, Non-stop Smiling and Margarita Sipping. Don't be shy! Free salsa lessons starts early at 8pm. Master instructor Daniel Balderas begins the evening with an intermediate/advanced salsa rueda class for those of you who want to step it up a bit. Then we bring things back to earth a bit with a basic lesson for those of you now inspired to try it out. After that, it's Game-On with open floor all night til bar time. BYO's Handcrafted Tall $6 Margaritas and chips and salsa are free, free, free. All this and no cover charge make Salsa Sundays the best spot in town every Sunday night! February Friday February 10th The February Salsa and Bachata Par-tay! @ 8pm Three Live Performances by Salsabrosa, Mezclando Milwaukee and Cultura y Clave! Show tu amor how spontaneous and exciting you are and take them out for some SALSA dancing this Friday night! Don't have someone to bring? That's ok, we've got lots of people looking to dance. Party kicks off at 8pm with free Salsa AND Bachata lessons starting at 9pm. Dance lessons taught by Salsabrosa Dance Company founder and resident instructor, Daniel Balderas, and the vivacious Tamra Roby. Mainstays in the Midwest Salsa scene, you may recognize Danny and Tamra from numerous stellar performances all over Milwaukee and Chicago. But don't be intimidated! Beginners to more advanced students will have a great time working through the finer points of Latin club dancing on our relaxed, dance floor. Energy low? Put a little Ay-Yi-Yi in your hips, try the invigorating flavors of our new Mango-Ginger Mojito with fresh Limes and Ginger Root, Mango Nectar and Caribbean Rum. DJ Aaron Edwards is BACK with the hip-shakin', bootylicious beats that you used to set off car alarms with. Well, maybe YOU didn't do that, but you know what I am talking about. Frankie Knuckles, Jungle Brothers, De La Soul and Stardust are some of the sounds du jour at this 4-hour head-nodding journey. Saturday night is your night to party at Studio Lounge as we continue to feature the funkiest music and the tastiest cocktails. Friday February 24th The Official Drink N Draw Returns w/DJ Bizzon on the turntables Drink & Draw MKE returns to BYO Studio Lounge at long last! We'll be featuring DJBizzon later in the evening along with our usual shenanigans. The MAIN theme of the night is "Serious Business" (or 'Bizz-ness' in honor of our esteemed guest DJ). Chip board will be in stock, the best cocktails in town made-to-order and socializing aplenty! Bring your own art materials beyond that. We also will have some space available to post anyone's work who completes our very fist Drink & Draw MKE challenge assignment "Capture Yourself", see their Facebook wall for details on that.
